Jazz
Jazz is a rhythmic stylized dance form that emerged at the turn of the 20th century. This ever-evolving genre boasts high energy, flash steps, personality, and technique, while stretching its roots to create sub-genres including pop, hip-hop, contemporary jazz, and jazz funk. Students will learn to build endurance, strength and flexibility, in addition to body isolations, precision of movement and floorwork.

Ballet / Lyrical *
Ballet is a classical form of dance with systematized
terminology, technique, and choreography. Lyrical is an expressive form of dance with techniques from Ballet, Jazz and Modern styles. Movements parallel the music’s dynamics, often choreographed to the lyrics. It is a fluid style that conveys emotion and tells a story. Students will learn the poise,
grace, and techniques of ballet, while exploring their own fluidity, flexibility, and dynamic depths.

Hip-Hop **
Hip-hop is a style of dance that incorporates street dance, redefining many of the early native jazz dances and movements. Strong African dance influence can be seen throughout the varying styles of hip-hop, which are generally categorized into Old School and New School. Dance Fitness
It’s never too late to learn, it’s never too late to start, and it’s never too late to start again. Whether you danced when you were “younger” or just always wanted to learn, this class will benefit beginner and intermediate dancers. The class combines jazz and street dance in a fitness-class style atmosphere. It will challenge balance & coordination and build strength & endurance, while teaching the fundamentals of dance.

Contemporary
As an expressive form of dance, Contemporary is deeply rooted in Modern Dance with elements of Ballet and Jazz. This style of dance demands strong athleticism, natural use of the body, fluid movements and heavy floorwork. Its unpredictability allows for freedom of movement and the ability to connect with the melody of music rather than the words. Students learn core stability, use of breath, and self exploration.
* Students wishing to participate in a lyrical class MUST have at least two years of previous Ballet experience. No exceptions.
** Students wishing to participate in a Hip-hop class MUST have previous Jazz class experience or be currently enrolled in a Jazz class with the Company.

Our students are dedicated, recreational dancers of all ages and experience.
Maybe this would be the first dance class for yourself or your child.
Perhaps you have prior dance experience but have been looking for a studio whose instruction matches your creative style.
Maybe you “aged-out” of your current dance company. Dancers often feel lost when they turn 18 and have graduated high school. Unless your college focus is dance or you’ve gone pro, there often isn’t a studio designed for you.
WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO DANCE WITH US!
The future of our studio… We are focused on continuing to build a safe and opportunistic community for recreational dancers of all ages, blending the love of dance into everyday life.
